Vishnu Temple
Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the Sri Venkata Varadaraja Perumal Temple is one of the most prominent Vaishnavite places of worship in the heart of Viluppuram district. The temple serves as a central spiritual hub where devotees gather to offer prayers to Lord Vishnu (presided over as Varadaraja Perumal) and Goddess Lakshmi (Perundevi Thayar). Designed in traditional South Indian Dravidian architecture, the complex features detailed stone carvings, a grand entrance gateway, and a tranquil inner sanctum. It comes alive during major religious occasions, especially Vaikunta Ekadasi, Purattasi Saturdays, and Brahmotsavam celebrations, drawing worshippers from surrounding towns for special alankarams, pujas, and traditional processions.
