Sri Kripapureeswarar Temple
Sri Kripapureeswarar Temple, located in Thiruvennainallur, Tamil Nadu, is an ancient and revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, worshipped here as Kripapureeswarar (the Lord of Grace). Historically celebrated as one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, the temple holds immense significance in Shaivite tradition, particularly as the sacred place where the famed saint Sundarar was intervened by Lord Shiva and initiated into his spiritual journey. Built predominantly in the Dravidian architectural style, the complex features a grand Rajagopuram, intricate stone carvings, and vibrant pillared halls that reflect centuries of Chola-era patronship. Devotees visit the shrine to seek blessings for spiritual guidance, relief from life’s obstacles, and mental peace, making it a prominent pilgrimage destination in the Viluppuram region.
